Overview
AVIC-W8600NEX - 7” Wireless DVD/CD Navigation Receiver – This receiver includes WebLink which replaces Pioneer AppRadio Mode+ functionality and works for most smartphone devices. Weblink must be downloaded to the device for it to work. It works with Amazon Alexa once you download the Vozsis for Alexa application as well as Amazon Alexa. You can switch between Apple CarPlay® or Android™ Auto and Weblink with just 2 finger taps. With most Android™ devices, benefit Wi-Fi Certified Miracast™ allowing you to mirror your device screen wirelessly to the receiver’s display when your parking brake is engaged. Customize this 6.2 receiver to display as many applications as possible or sources on the home screen. The control panel detached from the fixed screen for safety. The receiver’s HDMI allows your smartphone device to be easily used as an audio or video source. This GPS technology will guide you practically anywhere in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Wireless Bluetooth® connectivity keeps you in contact with others from the road with hands-free calling, and the included external microphone gives your conversation great clarity. This receiver has a built-in 13 ban graphic equalizer, Auto EQ, and Time alignment allowing you to shape the conic output to suite your taste. Use the crossover's adjustable points and slopes for further adjustments and engage the Advanced Sound Retriever to fill in the missing "gaps" in your compressed music files to restore clarity. It is also compatible with high-resolution FLAC files, so you can play your music from a thumb drive with maximum fidelity. You can check out video from DVDs or other sources on the 6.2" display when you are parked. When you are on the road, you can play movies through a rear-seat monitor for your passengers, so they can stay entertained. Dual-zone capability lets you enjoy the radio or another audio source up front while your passengers watch their favorite movies with headphones in the back. There is a designated back-up camera input as well as an additional camera input if needed. Satellite radio, HD Radio™, and IDatalink Maestro are other features which are available with this unit.

Android Auto

This receiver also features Android Auto, which extends the Android platform into the car in a way that’s purpose-built for driving. Android Auto automatically brings you useful information and organizes it into simple cards that appear just when they’re needed. It’s designed to minimize distraction so you can stay focused on the road ahead. Android Auto is compatible with Android phones running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or later. Android Auto may not be available on all devices.

Back up camera input (2-camera)

This back up camera input enables you to add a rear-view camera, with the system automatically switching to a full-screen image of the rear view when the car is placed in reverse gear. The full-screen image returns to the source screen last in use when the vehicle is taken out of reverse gear. *Rear visibility systems (backup cameras) are required under federal regulations in certain new vehicles according to a phase-in schedule that began on May 1, 2016. Owners of vehicles equipped with compliant rear visibility systems should not install or use this product in a way that alters or disables that system’s compliance with applicable regulations. If you are unsure whether your vehicle has a rear visibility system subject to these regulations, please contact the vehicle manufacturer or dealer.

Apple CarPlay

This receiver features Apple CarPlay, the smarter, safer and more fun way to use your iPhone® in the car. Apple CarPlay gives iPhone users an incredibly intuitive way to make calls, use Maps, listen to music, and verbally send and listen to messages with just a word or a touch. Apple CarPlay requires iPhone 5 device or newer with the latest version of iOS.

Connect your compatible iOS or Android™ smartphone with NEX for a truly connected experience, bringing many of your favorite apps right into the dashboard and letting you communicate using advanced high-quality Bluetooth connectivity. All NEX models feature built-in Bluetooth® that enables both hands-free calling and audio streaming. When streaming music, NEX even lets you browse and select the media stored on your smartphone using the AVRCP profile.

iDataLink Maestro (RR)

Keep your factory features and expand your level of in-vehicle connectivity with Pioneer NEX and iDatalink Maestro RR. When your receiver is installed in a compatible vehicle using the iDatalink Maestro RR interface (sold separately), you will be able to enjoy the performance and features of this receiver plus touchscreen control over key factory audio features. This Receiver supports factory functions via the iDatalink Maestro RR interface including: Steering Wheel Controls, Media Player (including the factory AUX-in and USB ports), Hands-Free Telephone, Voice Commands, Satellite Radio, and Secondary Display Support.

HERE

The receiver offers a comprehensive map database from HERE® covering the entire United States (including Alaska and Hawaii), Canada, and Puerto Rico, enabling users to route to millions of destinations. As a component of the Naviextras feature, this receiver ensures that you have the most recent map database available for this receiver at the time of purchase. Customers who purchase Pioneer NEX products from authorized Pioneer dealers are eligible to update to the latest available map database free of charge during the first 45 days of operation (from the unit’s first receipt of an active GPS signal). Siri® Eyes Free - touchscreen

FLAC

Your love of high-res audio does not need to stop at the front door. Enjoy FLAC files in your vehicle without the need to convert. Pioneer's NEX in-dash receivers were the first in the industry to offer playback of files encoded as high-res FLAC up to 192kHz/24 bit and provide playback output at CD quality. With Pioneer, your high-res FLAC is no longer confined to your home hi-fi system - put your music on the move.

Auto Time Alignment and Auto EQ

Time alignment automatically estimates the delay from each speaker to the driver’s position and adjusts speaker sound output timing, so that sound from all speakers reaches the driver’s ears in perfect sync. Auto EQ tailors specific musical characteristics according to preference, using a microphone to monitor and analyze acoustics, then automatically fine-tunes all frequency bandwidths and front and rear speaker digital parametric equalization. These processes occur in 399 seamless steps in just under 6 minutes and 30 seconds.

Dual Zone entertainment

The receiver allows rear seated passengers to enjoy audio or video content on additional rear seat monitors and headphones, even while the front passenger and driver listen to audio from other sources or operate navigation functions simultaneously.

Time alignment-no microphone

This feature allows for delay time and synchronizing from each speaker to be adjusted to correct any phase mismatches in the sound resulting from the listening position. Does not include the CD-M20 microphone.

Traffic & Weather

The built-in traffic tuner provides real-time traffic data for over 90 major cities in North America, including Canada. Check your commute route in advance or re-route to your destination to avoid traffic congestion. There is no subscription cost and no annoying on-screen advertisements. USB

This receiver is ready to roll with direct connectivity to your iPhone* for music and video via USB. Song, artist, time and album information are beautifully displayed on the touchscreen. The system's wired USB connection provides direct digital signal transfer from the device for clean, clear sound while providing 1.5 amp of current to keep your iPod/iPhone charged. *Requires iPhone 5 device or newer. Compatibility with unit and operations may vary depending on iOS version.

Vozsis with Amazon Alexa

Vozsis is a smartphone app available for both iOS and Android OS devices that brings Amazon Alexa capability to compatible Weblink-enabled Pioneer multimedia in-dash receivers. Downloading the Vozsis application makes using Alexa in your car simple – just tap-and-ask and Alexa will respond instantly. With Alexa, you can ask to play music, hear the news, check the weather, control smart home devices*, and more. Alexa lives in the cloud, so it’s always getting smarter, adding new capabilities delivered to your device automatically. *Certain Alexa functionality is dependent on smart home technology. Wireless connectivity

This receiver supports a cable free connection between your smartphone and the receiver using Wi-Fi® wireless connectivity. Now compatible with both Android Auto Wireless (available on Google Pixel and Nexus devices)¹ and Android Auto over USB, the receiver makes it easier than ever to connect. Android Auto¹ makes it easier to access your favorite navigation, media and communication apps on the road while minimizing distractions. Compatibility with Apple CarPlay supports connecting to an iPhone® device using either a wireless connection or a wired USB connection. Wi-Fi Certified Miracast™ provides additional wireless connectivity, enabling seamless display of multimedia content between compatible devices and the Pioneer receiver². THIS END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT (“LICENSE”) IS A LEGAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN YOU (BOTH THE INDIVIDUAL INSTALLING THE PROGRAM AND ANY SINGLE LEGAL ENTITY FOR WHICH THE INDIVIDUAL IS ACTING) (“YOU” OR “YOUR”) AND PIONEER CORPORATION, [0406.999.132 (PIONEER EUROPE NV)], LOCATED AT 28-8, HONKOMAGOME 2-CHOME, BUNKYO-KU, TOKYO 113-0021, JAPAN (“PIONEER,” “WE” OR “US”). YOU AGREE THAT THIS LICENSE IS ENFORCEABLE LIKE ANY WRITTEN NEGOTIATED AGREEMENT SIGNED BY YOU. THIS LICENSE APPLIES TO THE USE OF THE SOFTWARE AND DOCUMENTATION (DEFINED BELOW). PLEASE READ THIS LICENSE CAREFULLY.

1. DEFINITIONS 1.1 "Documentation" means written documentation help content made generally available by Pioneer to aid in using the Software. 1.2 "Software" means the firmware update provided to You by Pioneer solely for Your use with the Product(s). 1.3 "Product" means the multimedia receiver model distributed and sold by Pioneer for which the Software is licensed. 1.4 "Licensor" means the third party who licenses you to use copyrights, trademark rights and other intellectual property rights related to content, text, images, data, software, and information that are adopted in the Software.

2. LIMITED LICENSE

  • 2.1 Authorized Use. Pioneer grants You a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, royalty-free license to install and use the Software solely with the Product(s).
  • 2.2 Restrictions. You will not copy or use the Software or Documentation except as expressly permitted by this License. You will not distribute, transfer, sublicense, rent, lease, lend, sell, or otherwise allow any third party to use the Software. You will not modify, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise reduce the Software to a human-perceivable form, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law, and then only after You have notified Pioneer in writing of Your intended activities.
  • 2.3 Export Controls. You may not use or otherwise export or re-export the Licensed Software or Documentation except as authorized by United States law and the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Licensed Software or Documentation was obtained. In particular, but without limitation, the Licensed Software or　 Documentation may not be exported or re-exported (a) into any U.S.-embargoed countries or (b) to anyone on the U.S. Treasury Department's Specially Designated Nationals List or the U.S. Department of Commerce Denied Persons List or Entity List. By using the Licensed Software or Documentation, you represent and warrant that you are not located in any such country or on any such list. You also agree that you will not use the Licensed Software or Documentation for any purposes prohibited by United States law, including, without limitation, the development, design, manufacture, or production of nuclear, missile, or chemical or biological weapons.
  • 2.4 Ownership. You acknowledge any right, title or interest in the Software and Documentation, including but not limited to, patent, trademark, design, copyright or any other intellectual property rights, shall remain with Pioneer and/or its Licensor and no right, title or interest in the Software and Documentation is granted or transferred under this License, except for the right granted hereunder. You agree that You do not acquire any rights, express or implied, beyond the limited license in Section 2.1.

  • 2.6 Corrections; No Support While Pioneer may choose to make corrections to the Software available, Pioneer is not obligated to provide any such corrections or any support, maintenance or updates of the Software or Documentation.

3. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES. SINCE THE SOFTWARE IS LICENSED FREE OF CHARGE TO YOU, PIONEER WARRANTS ONLY THAT THE SOFTWARE HAS BEEN DEVELOPED AND MADE AVAILABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE USUAL STANDARDS IN THE INDUSTRY FOR FREE OF CHARGE SOFTWARE. IN ALL OTHER RESPECTS, THERE IS NO WARRANTY FOR THE SOFTWARE, AND THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS AND WITH ALL FAULTS.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, PIONEER, ITS SUPPLIERS AND LICENSORS DISCLAIM ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND YOU USE THE SOFTWARE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, PIONEER AND ITS SUPPLIERS AND LICENSORS DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

  1. THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE,
  2. YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE,
  3. THE SOFTWARE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, OR
  4. THE SOFTWARE WILL OPERATE WITH THE HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION YOU CHOOSE.

NO WRITTEN OR ORAL STATEMENTS BY PIONEER GROUP OR OTHERS WILL CONSTITUTE WARRANTIES OF PIONEER. “PIONEER GROUP” MEANS PIONEER AND ITS SUBSIDIARIES AND OTHER AFFILIATES, AND THEIR OWNERS, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, DISTRIBUTORS, DEALERS, LICENSORS AND OTHER REPRESENTATIVES.

4. LICENSE BREACH. You agree that any breach of the restrictions in this License would cause Pioneer irreparable harm for which money damages alone would be inadequate. In addition to damages and any other remedies to which Pioneer may be entitled, you agree that Pioneer may seek injunctive relief to prevent the actual, threatened or continued breach of these License terms.

5. CHANGES TO THIS LICENSE. Pioneer may modify this License at any time. Pioneer will provide advance notice of the changes and the effective date by posting a notice on this site or by other appropriate means. Your use of the Product(s) after such notice will constitute Your agreement to the revised License.

6. TERMINATION. This License is effective until terminated. You may terminate this License at any time upon Your destruction and deletion the Software and Documentation. Pioneer may terminate this License at any time upon Your breach of any provision. If this License is terminated, you will stop using the Software and Documentation and destroy all copies in Your possession, confirming to Pioneer that You have done so. Sections 2.2, 2.3, 3, 4 and 7 will continue in effect after this License's termination.

7. GENERAL TERMS

  • 7.1 Governing law.  If You are a resident of any European Economic Area (EEA) member state, this License is governed by and will be construed in accordance with Belgian law. If You are a resident of the United States, this License is governed by and will be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, U.S.A. If You are a resident of Canada, this License is governed by and will be construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada. If You are resident of any territory outside the EEA, United States, or Canada, this License is governed by and will be construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.

  • 7.3 EXCLUSION OF REMEDIES. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT, EXCLUDING PIONEER’S WILLFUL MISCONDUCT, GROSS NEGLIGENCE, OR IN THE EVENT OF THE DEATH OR PHYSICAL INJURY OF THE USER AS A RESULT OF THE ACTS OR OMISSIONS OF PIONEER, WILL ANY OF PIONEER GROUP OR ITS THIRD PARTY SUPPLIERS OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANYONE ELSE FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE, EXEMPLARY OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOST DATA OR ECONOMIC LOSS) ARISING OUT OF OR IN ANY WAY RELATING TO THIS LICENSE, INCLUDING YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE REGARDLESS OF THE CAUSE OF ACTION ON WHICH THE CLAIM IS BASED, EVEN IF PIONEER GROUP OR ITS THIRD-PARTY SUPPLIERS OR LICENSORS HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES OR CLAIM.
  • 7.4 LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, EXCLUDING PIONEER’S WILLFUL MISCONDUCT, GROSS NEGLIGENCE, OR IN THE EVENT OF THE DEATH OR PHYSICAL INJURY OF THE USER AS A RESULT OF THE ACTS OR OMISSIONS OF PIONEER, WILL THE AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF PIONEER GROUP AND THE THIRD-PARTY SUPPLIERS AND LICENSORS FOR ANY DAMAGES OR CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THIS LICENSE OR ITS SUBJECT MATTER OR ANY PRODUCT, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, EXCEED TEN US DOLLARS (US$10.00) OR THE PRICE PAID FOR THE PIONEER PRODUCT FOR WHICH THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. PIONEER GROUP’S AND THE THIRD-PARTY SUPPLIERS’ AND LICENSORS’ LIMITATION ON LIABILITY IS CUMULATIVE, WITH ALL OF PIONEER GROUP’S AND THIRD-PARTY SUPPLIERS’ AND LICENSORS’ PAYMENTS IN SATISFACTION OF THEIR LIABILITIES BEING AGGREGATED TO DETERMINE SATISFACTION OF THIS LIMIT.
  • 7.5. YOUR SPECIFIC RIGHTS. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF DAMAGES OR LIMITATION OF LIABILITY, SO THE ABOVE EXCLUSIONS OR LIMITATIONS, TO THE EXTENT PROHIBITED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. YOUR SPECIFIC RIGHTS MAY VARY FROM JURISDICTION TO JURISDICTION.
  • 7.6 ESSENTIAL PURPOSE. UNLESS LIMITED OR MODIFIED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE FOREGOING DISCLAIMERS, EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS APPLY, EVEN IF ANY REMEDY FAILS FOR ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.
  • 7.7  Severability and Waiver.  If any provision of this License is held to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the extent possible or, if incapable of enforcement, deemed to be severed and deleted from this License, and the remainder will continue in full force and effect. Any waiver of any breach or failure to enforce any provision of this License will not be deemed a future waiver of such term or a waiver of any other provision.
  • 7.8  No Assignment. You may not assign, sell, delegate or otherwise transfer this License or any rights or obligations under it, without Pioneer's prior written consent. Pioneer may freely assign or transfer this License or any of its rights or obligations under it. Pioneer will, however, assign or transfer this License or any of its rights or obligations under this License with notice in advance if the assignment or transfer has an impact on your guarantees.
  • 7.9  Entire Agreement. This License constitutes the entire agreement between You and Pioneer with respect to the Software and Documentation. This License may not be modified or amended without Pioneer's prior and express written consent, and no other act, document, usage or custom will be deemed to amend or modify this License. The term “including” means “including without limitation.”
